Gordon G. Globus Quantum Closures and Disclosures: Thinking-together Postphenomenology and Quantum Brain Dynamics
نویسنده
چکیده
In his new book, Gordon Globus brings together two seemingly irreconcilable discourses: an application of quantum field theory to brain functioning with the philosophies of Heidegger and Derrida. In other words, he tries to reconcile a powerful tradition within continental philosophy with the quantum revolution in science, and applies the outcome to crucial issues in philosophy, brain science, mathematics and psychiatry. There are three principal topics; the first considers Heidegger in relation to Vitiello’s quantum brain dynamics, the second reviews similar approaches by other people (i.e. Dreyfus, Pylkkö and Plotnitsky), while the third deals with Derrida and the quantum brain. Globus calls his methodology ‘thinkingtogether’. This involves

Evaluating the effectiveness of quantum leadership skills training on thinking style and knowledge sharing behavior of school principals
The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of quantum skills training on thinking style and knowledge sharing behavior of girls' high school principals in Isfahan. This research is a type of exploratory combined research that has a quantitative and qualitative nature. In the qualitative part, the theme analysis method was used inductively and in the quantitative part, the quasi-ex...

متن کاملDynamics of entangled quantum optical system in independent media
We study the dynamics of two three-level atoms interacting with independent bosonic Lorentzian reservoirs at zero temperature. Such systems can be created in far astronomical objects. Quantum mechanical behaviour of these particles can produce detectable effects on the spectroscopic identifications of these objects, if such behaviour remain stable during the interaction with their media. It is ...
متن کاملChris Clarke Being and Field Theory
This article arises from the remarkably multi-faceted book Brain and Being edited by Gordon Globus and others, hereafter referred to as B&B. It raises questions (though not unusually, few answers) about several related areas: the way in which quantum theory might endow the physical matter of the brain with surprising, though still essentially classical, properties; the possibility that quantum ...
متن کاملDynamical evolution of nonclassical properties in cavity quantum electrodynamics with a single trapped ion
In this paper, by considering a system consisting of a single two-level trapped ion interacting with a single-mode quantized radiation field inside a lossless cavity, the temporal evolution of the ionic and the cavity-field quantum statistical properties including photon-counting statistics, quantum fluctuations of the field quadratures and quantum fluctuations of the ionic dipole variables are...
